Looking for a coleslaw recipe that tastes just like Kentucky Fried Chicken’s coleslaw?
Years ago :), when newspapers were your source for articles on gardening, do-it-yourself projects and recipes, I would clip recipes thinking I would someday rewrite them into a book. Well, as you can see I still haven’t got to all of them. I found this recipe for KFC Copycat Coleslaw about 15+ years ago. I have made this over and over. It truly tastes like KFC’s coleslaw.
If you do decide to make it, don’t change a thing the first time. I did later substitute artificial sweetener for the sugar. That explains the handwriting for 10 pkg on the newspaper clipping. I am not sure who Cruz’s is but thanks for sharing many years ago.
Cruz’s KFC Coleslaw
1 head of cabbage (1 1/2 to 2 pounds) finely shredded
1/4 cup finely diced carrots
2 tablespoons finely diced onion
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Miracle Whip salad dressing
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
In a large bowl toss together the cabbage, carrots, onion, sugar and salt. Set aside. In a smaller bowl combine the Miracle Whip, sour cream, vinegar and oil. Mix well. Toss the dressing with the cabbage mixture. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.
