Don’t tell Joe but there is a new Sloppy Slider in town and it is making people smile.
It’s Sloppy Jane Sliders created by Kelsey Nixon, Next Food Network Star, TV Cooking Host and Cookbook Author.
Since it is almost state fair time, I thought I’d share a great memory from a few years ago. My husband and I were working the Creative Living Stage at the Oregon State Fair. We were blessed to work with Kelsey Nixon as our celebrity guest cooking demonstrator. She wowed the audience with her fabulous after school snacks and of coarse her cookbook that she was so gracious to sign for all of those who purchased one.
This gal is a true sweetheart. Her cookbook is filled with great recipes as well as stories. The recipe for these Sloppy Jane Sliders are on her website here.
I love the story that is beside this recipe in the cookbook. She talks about when she was on the Next Food Network Star, that she made this recipe for a special judge, none other than Martha Stuart. Despite Kelsey’s best efforts, Martha was not impressed – she even asked for a fork to taste the messy sandwich.
